Did you have trouble sticking to your stop loss in your early days?

Yes. Early on I did not use hard stops. I'd exit manually when the stock went below my stop price, and often I ignored the stop, waited for a bounce, or hoped for a miracle. Often I just ignored my stop and waited a little longer for the bounce, and it eventually led to larger losses. That is the main reason I keep using hard stops.
