When I buy pullbacks, I usually wait for a breakout. After the stock finds support at the level, I generally wait for a five-minute or 15-minute candle breakout. I don't usually buy the dip on the way down. I want the first lower-timeframe breakout to show a certain type of strength, so I'm not blindly buying a falling knife. Occasionally I may set an order near a specific level, but that is rare.
