The screeners are just narrowing down my universe and giving me potential candidates. They're not telling me which stocks I should trade today. I'm the one who decides which stock to trade, where, and when. Going through the watchlist helps me understand what's happening in different sectors and market caps, even when I'm not trading those names. You can define simple rules, like a pullback into the EMAs, and find lots of opportunities. But is shorting every one of them profitable? I don't know. I may skip a trade because the sector or market is strong, the market is at support, or I don't like the price action. Those details are harder to define. Flipping through charts also trains pattern recognition. It's part of learning.
