I'm not especially good at exiting positions, so I don't have a special rule. For shorts, cover some or all when you feel excited, or when the stock reaches a level such as 1100. Sometimes you don't need a perfectly solid reason to cover into weakness. It is always good to cover shorts and lock in profits because there will usually be another opportunity, and the next short entry will generally be higher. The more extended the indices and sector are to the downside, the more you should want to cover.
