Risk & Sizing

Did you take more than 0.5% risk when you started trading?

Definitely. I took more than 0.5% risk when I first started trading, but I began using 0.5% risk around 2023 or 2024, and my performance really started improving then. If I could learn trading again, I'd probably tell myself to use 0.3% risk per trade. That would suit my low win rate and tight-stop approach better because the system is prone to consecutive stop losses and losing streaks, which can lead to overtrading. If you use a wider-stop approach with a higher win rate, you can use higher risk per trade because mathematically you are less prone to losing streaks.
