Risk & Sizing

How do you size up after coming out of a losing streak?

8 May 2026 · Edited from Martin’s stream; not a verbatim quotation.

For the first few trades, I trade smaller. After a 26% drawdown in December, I reduced my risk from 0.5% per trade to around 0.3%, or even 0.25% or 0.2%, and focused on finding very tight entries. I wanted to take the best entries possible and rebuild my confidence. When I've two or three positions working, I'll usually also see broader market participation. Normally, you don't have two or three working positions when the market is unhealthy. I also want the trades to move away from my stops quickly rather than hang around them.
