How do you resolve the conflict between different time frames?

14 Jul 2026 · Edited from Martin’s stream; not a verbatim quotation.

The higher time frame is the big picture, usually the weekly or daily chart. The semiconductor ETF was still above the weekly 9 EMA, but two huge red candles with volume after a strong uptrend could indicate a pause or deeper pullback. On the daily chart, the 9 EMA was below the 21 EMA, which was bearish, although price remained above the 50. Because my daily and weekly view was bearish, I'd look at the lower time frame for a bearish reversal and focus only on the short side rather than buying a rising 9 EMA on the 60-minute chart. The context and big picture matter most, and I remind myself to start there.
